The incorporated lens is excellent for basic photography, but had little zoom range. I searched high and low but couldn't discover a zoom lens I wanted to purchase. I read overviews about this one as well as MANY differents (all more expensive). I took this on vacation with me and I used to be EXTREMELY happy with the pictures it took. The zoom vary was once nice. I even used the macro function on just a few occasions with success. It works completely and takes nice pictures. It is just a little heavy, but never having used any other telefoto lens, I have no idea how much they on a regular basis weigh. I don't take professional pictures, however I am picky about the high quality of the pictures I take. I would buy another Quantaray lens in a heartbeat. I paid $61. (used) and it used to be cash well spent.
